Epicyon haydeni

The largest of the Borophaginae - Epicyon haydeni, who lived in North America during the Miocene (about 6.20 - 5,330 million years ago). With the growth of a meter at the shoulder and even a little bit more, he, in fact, is the largest in the Canidae family. Of course, some breeds of dogs such as Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes can reach over a meter at the shoulder, but they do not have such massiveness as Epicyon haydeni. Different individuals of E. haydeni weighed from 100 to 170 kg. So these "megadogs" is comparable with the lions and, of course, are one of the most dangerous predator of its time.
